  • Beacon Villages Community Library is run by a charity for the community across Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Cheddington, Marsworth, Slapton and beyond.
  • We are very fond of books, but we are about much more than paper. We aim to provide entertainment, education, and information, to support the community, and to offer a friendly pace to meet.
  • Whether you need a book for your homework, want to visit the Which? website for free, or would like to check what night to put your bins out – we’ll be happy to help.
  • You can find us in the Town Hall on Ivinghoe High Street. We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings.

Community groups

Beacon Villages Community Library plans to work much more closely with fellow community groups than in the past.

We will shortly be compiling a directory of community groups, containing key information, contact details and pictures, so as to make our members aware of the full and rich variety of activities on offer across the Beacon Villages. If your community group would like to be included, please get in touch: 01296 387890 or info@bvcl.org.uk.

In addition, we hope to support community groups by offering display space in the library to promote your activities. Don’t forget that we can also help if your information needs – does the allotment group need some books ready for the autumn on fruit and veg preservation techniques? Is the cycling group clamouring for some new routes? We can help! Just pop in or get in contact to discuss your needs: 01296 387890 or info@bvcl.org.uk.

We would also be interested in discussing joint fundraising activities. One of our aims is to promote the coming together of people from across the Beacon Villages community, so activities such as an intra-villages cricket tournament would be perfect. If you are interested in discussing ideas, please get in contact: 01296 387890 or info@bvcl.org.uk.
